9 Lives Photography

I rarely post about my “other” life as a musician, but sometimes my cat and musical worlds collide. Like last night, for instance . . . My string ensemble, Elle Musique, was most honored to be included in Animal Care League’s annual fundraiser, Give’m Shelter. This spectacular event was held for the second time at Primitive, an amazing gallery/store filled with art from all corners of the world. Each of the three floors offered not only food and drink, but fabulous raffle prizes and an assortment of adorable cats and dogs available for adoption. It was difficult to play and not be distracted by the non-humans wandering around! The utterly decadant sweets of  Buttercream Bakery were also within eyeshot . . .  

We played opposite The Shirley King Band, fronted by BB King’s daughter. She not only sings, but plays the flute, harmonica and washboard!I only hope we are invited back next year ~

I was on my way home from the cat shelter when I spied this cross-eyed cutie just chillin’ in his backyard

(a rare Chicago sighting, indeed) . . . 

He wandered over to say hello  . . . 

 I think he smelled the organic catnip toys I had stashed in my camera bag!

I purchased this pair of lovely antique chairs a few months ago, and they have become Stella’s newest place to lounge.

Stella’s modeling career is taking off! She’s now featured on the FAB (Feline Advisory Bureau) website, and will also be on printed promotional material (I believe a few shots of Sadie may also be included)

I needed a good laugh today, and this did the trick!

For those of you not familiar with Etsy, it’s a fabulous online marketplace filled with handmade treasures of every kind. I happened upon it by accident almost two years, and have become quite addicted. I finally opened my own shop about a year ago, and have met some amazing people through Etsy. 

There are many Etsy artists, like myself, who donate some or part of their proceeds to charity. Hester of Stardust Love has created a new Etsy team called AOE (Altruism on Etsy) and members can be located here. You can find items made by AOE team members by typing “AOE” in the search bar. Thanks to Meezette, you can sample a few of the many items available by AOE artists in her lovely treasury (hmm, that white cat looks kind of familiar . . . )

She arrived at Felines Inc. only a few days.  Quite fond of the litter box, you can find Peaches lounging and napping among other things in her favorite hangout.

My newest crushes at Felines Inc. are brothers Bose and Sony. Photos are of Bose only (Sony was too busy napping!)
